o Dolores O’Riordan, lead singer of “The Cranberries” passed away yesterday at the the age of 46. She was in London for a recording session when police were called to the scene. No details have been released about her death but police are not treating the case as suspicious. Her family requests privacy during this difficult time and plan to hold a funeral for her in her home in Ireland. Her bandmates Noel Hogan, Fergal Lawler, and Mike Hogan wrote about Dolores on Twitter saying, “We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today. –Noel, Mike and Fergal.”

Many other celebrities wrote about her passing on twitter including Dave Davies, lead guitarist of “The Kinks”, and Hozier, an Irish pop singer saying they were saddened and devastated to hear of her passing. Dolores O’Riordan will be missed dearly and we wish her family and friends the best during this time.
