Computer Science Updates Tools
October 11, 2018
Computer Science has recently changed their curriculum.
Similar to most classes, it has refined the tools used in the course. Computer Science Principles has recently gone from using mobile CSP to using the code.org app lab. The new program gets away from block coding, commonly used on websites such as Scratch. Code.org also comes with lesson plans, which compose a good portion of class activities/homework.
The class typically depends on video tutorials, which are also included in code.org. Mobile CSP was a bit limited compared to code.org. The new program is especially useful due to the fact that Computer Science Principles focuses on mobile applications. The students are going to learn to develop phone apps, which they can download and use.
