The Wonder of ICEHOTEL

The ICEHOTEL, located in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi, is a world-famous hotel and an art exhibition made of ice and snow.

The hotel, which was founded in 1989, and is reborn and sculpted with new ice every winter. In 2016, the hotel created ICEHOTEL 365, which features ice rooms designed and sculpted by signature artists, in addition to a large ice bar that serves champagne, and an ice gallery. Warm rooms are also available.

The ICEHOTEL offers day visits which include guided tours. The hotel contains 65 rooms each has an individual theme. The ICEHOTEL uses natural ice from the Torne River. provides the hotel with its ice in winter – and in the summer when the hotel melts, the water returns to its source.
