Newcastle County police announced an arrest in the January Alban Park hit and run. The 25 year old Jahmere Irvin-Sills, who struck a 23 year old victim in the parking lot of the Evergreen Apartments on January 31st and then fled the scene, was arrested after being spotted still operating the black dodge challenger with chrome rims. After the incident the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition with serious injuries to his mid section. The debris left at the accident played a part in identifying Sills’ car. Sills was charged with felony tampering with physical evidence, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in an injury, driving while suspended, and failure to report a collision resulting in an injury. He later was released on $3,500 unsecured bond.
