Vaccines for Farmers?

Vaccines for Farmers?

Liz Nelson, staff

Covid-19 has been infecting thousands for nearly a year now, with the vaccine being held for essential workers(and educators in California), we are coming closer to returning to a pre-pandemic lifestyle. We do face certain issues though, without about half of the population immune, the disease can still do a lot of damage if spread, and with immigrants coming into the states illegally and avoiding the government-run vaccine stations, we may be stuck with the virus despite the increasing number of vaccination stations. California, which recently began saving vaccine doses for educators as well as healthcare workers, has started yet another program for vaccinations. They have started to put up vaccination stations near farm areas, the employee just has to agree to get vaccinated, their employer schedules a meeting time and all the worker has to do is come to the tent. This method ensures that thousands will be vaccinated as they are considered to be essential workers by most. While the other states have not yet started this program, the idea for it may soon spread faster than the virus.
