Recycling Gets the Gold

Mr. McFarland’s AP Environmental Science class has won The Red Clay Recycling Challenge competition that encompassed all high schools in the Red Clay Consolidated School district. This competition required the participants to implement a new and exciting way to recycle, and the winning innovation would then be exercised throughout all high schools in the school district. Not only does this competition focus on recycling in schools, but  also encompasses the importance of recycling in everyday life. This program  focuses on how we can save natural resources and protect the environment through recycling, beginning in our schools and then taking our knowledge with us to our homes and communities. As a result of winning this important competition, our team celebrated the victory on May 13th, 2016. The school will receive a plaque recognizing their achievement.
