The People We Keep is a book about a-soon-to-be adult named April. April is a highschool drop-out because she really doesn’t care about her life and for a long time she really didn’t care about anyone else. April’s mom left her when she was young, and her dad practically abandoned her for another family. April can’t help but think she’s the problem, a current thought of her’s is that people really don’t love her so she forces herself to leave and not ruin their life by her being with them. Throughout the book you get to meet people who make April’s life worth living, and people who don’t. If you’re into reading sad romance about a troubled teen, then this is definitely worth reading.
