Manager Rob Thompson clinched his first NLE champion since coming to the Phillies in 2018 and being declared the manager in 2022. Aaron Nola with a 3.52 ERA with 7 strikeouts for the game helping the Phillies on the defensive side. J.T. Realmuto hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second giving the Phillies a 2-run lead. The next inning Kyle Schwarber hit a solo homerun giving the Phillies a 3-run lead. Bryce Harper steals in 7th base of the season and ends up scoring by a fielding error by Cubs shortstop Luis Vazquez and a throwing error by Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner. In the top of the 7th Matt Strahm came to pitch striking out Patrick Wisdom. Jeff Hoffman replaced Matt Strahm, pitching in the top of the 8th inning giving a no-hit inning. Carlos Estévez replaces Jeff Hoffman being the closer for the Phillies and helping them finish the game with the win and the NLE championship. The 3 top performers of the game were J.T. Realmuto going 2 for 4 with a home run, 2 RBIs, and a run scored. Aaron Nola with 6.0 innings pitched, 2 ER, and 7 K, 2 BB. Bryce Harper went 2-3 with a double, BB scoring a run, and a stolen base. Phillies have clinched their playoff spot and won the NLE championship Red October is on its way and now we need to win the World Series.
