The home of the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Flyers, and the Philadelphia Wings is parting ways with the naming rights sponsors Wells Fargo. The banking service has been the sponsor of the arena since 2010, for over 14 years it has been the Wells-Fargo Center and in August 2025 the deal with the building’s owner, Comcast Spectacor, comes to an end. The center has had 4 names since 1996. For the first 2 years, it was called the CoreStates Center, later becoming the first Union Center until 2003. Lastly, it was named the Wachovia Center until 2010. But in reality, it has always been the Wells Fargo Center and it will always be the Wells Fargo Center to many people. Wells Fargo explained the decision not to pursue a contract renewal as a “ business decision”. Wells Fargo stated, “We value our relationship with Comcast Spectators and we look forward to collaborating on live entertainment and sporting events at the Wells Fargo Center through the end of our contract in August 2025”.
