Locally, blood donations have decreased by 20%, creating a major problem for the blood supply—especially during the holiday season. There is a shortage of all blood types, especially Type O. Crucial needs for Type O are emergencies and trauma care. Since this was announced, there has been some improvement, but there is still a big need for blood donors.
