Recently, the NFL has been receiving backlash for the players kneeling during the National Anthem. According to section 301 of the United States Code, during the playing of the National Anthem people “should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart” unless you are a uniformed military personnel. If you are wearing a hat, it should be removed and if there is no flag present, you should face the direction the music is playing instead. Since the United States Code says that you should be standing during the playing of the National Anthem, the players that are being criticized, have taken a stand and decided to proceed with the way they show their discontent, by Kneeling.
