    Red Wolves Led the Pack!

It’s championship season, and the Red wolves are peaking at the right time. Friday night kicked off at Abessinio Stadium with 100m trials where Robyn Bolen, Rana Jackson, Nathan Cho, and Jaden Clarke all ran personal best marks, the Girls’ and Boys’ 4×8 relays fought hard in their respective races, and Siani Winchester edged closer to the 100mH school record, also setting a personal best time. Over at shot put, Nick Siegfried, threw close to his all-time best, finishing 5th overall and scoring points for the boys’ team. Wrapping up the night on the track, Mallory Holloway ran a school record-breaking 3200m race, finishing 2nd overall and earning All-County honors. Ben Williamson followed up with his own school record-breaking race in the boys’ 3200m.

Saturday’s action brought us back to Wilmington with the boys’ action kicking off at 10 am. ALL of our boys set personal-best marks on Saturday:

200m – Parker Bolton (PR); 300mH – Nathan Cho (PR, school record); 400m – Jaden Clarke (PR), Matthew Metzler (PR); 800m – Nick Hockenbrock (PR), Ryan Williamson (PR); 1600m – Ben Horgan (PR, school record), Ben Williamson (PR, sub-5:00); 4×4 relay – Ben Horgan, Nathan Cho, Matthew Metzler, Jaden Clarke (school record); discuss – Nick Siegfried (PR, school record, 3rd place, All-County)

The girls’ races began at 3 pm and didn’t disappoint. The girls posted 22 points to finish in the top 10 in New Castle County –

200m – Jordan Blanck, Alyssa Napier (PR, school record); 300mH – Siani Winchester (PR); 400m – Michaela Gates (PR), Alyssa Napier (PR, school record, 2nd place, All-County); 800m – Penny; 1600 – Isabell Anderson, Mallory Holloway (PR, school record, 3rd place, All-County); 4×4 relay – Mallory Holloway, Siani Winchester, Jordan Blanck, Alyssa Napier (school record)

Overall, the kids came home with 5 school records on the boys side, 5 school records on the girls side, and personal best marks for nearly every athlete. We are excited to have 3 All-County athletes: Nick Seigfried (discus), Mallory Holloway (1600, 3200), and Alyssa Napier (400).

We now look ahead to our State Championship meet next Friday and Saturday at Dover High School. Good luck to our state qualifiers!
