On Wednesday, October 6th Governor John Carney announced that Susan Bunting is stepping down from her current position as Delaware’s Department of Education Secretary. Susan has worked in the education industry for over a decade. She became the education secretary in 2017. Before that, she was the superintendent for Indian River School District in 2006 and was a language arts teacher at Indian River since 1977. There has been no current response from Secretary Susan following her decision to step down. This causes a lot of questions such as “Why is the secretary stepping down?”, “Is it covid related?”, and “Who will be announced as our new Secretary of Education?”.
