The boys’ and girls’ XC teams continued to show their strength at the largest meet of the season at Bellevue on Friday afternoon. Boys Varsity kicked off the meet and had an outstanding showing. Led by Ben Williamson and Braeden Peterson, who finished in 29th and 30th to win award t-shirts, the scoring top 5 (which was rounded out by Ben Horgan, Andrew Hockenbrock, and Nick Hockenbrock) all finished in the top 75 to bring the team to a 7th place finish (out of 36 teams). The last time the boys raced at Joe O’Neill in 2019, they finished in 18th place – what an AMAZING improvement from a hard-working group of runners!
Girls Varsity showed their strength with a 4th place team finish (out of 35 teams). Led by Mallory Holloway (7th), Alyssa Napier (16th), and Jordan Blanck (23rd), the scoring top 5 (which was rounded out by Penny Henderson and Izzy Anderson) all finished in the top 85. The girls improved on their 8th place finish from 2019 and showed that they can compete with the top teams in the state.
Our JV runners continue to improve and show their grit – congrats to Keeley, Rana, and Malina for running PRs in the Girls JV race.
