From the beginning of the 2021 – 2022 school year, students and staff were expected to wear a mask while being inside the school building. The emergency mask mandate that is presently in effect was supposed to expire on December 10th, but Governor John Carney recently announced that the statewide mask mandate would remain in place until February 8th, 2022. Carney has hopes that the school mask mandate can end in February, especially now that children ages 5-11 are now eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine. As of now, 60.5% of Delawareans are currently fully vaccinated.
