The Delaware Division of Public Health is warning Glasgow residents to be on alert after a rabid raccoon bit and scratched a person earlier this week. The victim was attacked by the raccoon on Sunday, November 7, 2021, the raccoon was captured and later tested positive for rabies. Health officials are now warning anyone who lives or is often near Frazer and Denny roads in Glasgow to contact their doctors if they think they came into contact with a raccoon in that area. The health department also recommends anyone who thinks their pet may have been bitten or scratched by a raccoon to call their veterinarian.
