Parallel Universe Fake News

Parallel Universe Fake News

On Saturday, November 24th, 2021, news sites such as the New York Post, Express, Daily Star, and more have been spreading false news about a NASA experiment. The headlines claim that an experiment based in Antarctica has detected the possibility of a parallel universe where time runs backward. When trying to look up specifics of said experiment on NASA’s official website there were no results. Furthering my research I noticed a pattern on each news site, they bring up ANITA (Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna). When searching for ANITA, I found an article written November 5, 2003, on NASA’s website about a mission supposed to be led by Peter W. Gorham of the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu. Using the Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna, it would detect radio waves emitted when high-energy neutrinos interact in the Antarctic ice shelf. That mission would cost NASA a total of $35 million. In conclusion, be careful about what you read and always do research. People and even news organizations can take one word or phrase and distort evidence.
