Following the holidays, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases including a new variant called Omicron. With cases topping 900,000 a day country-wide, people are wondering if a school shut down is upon us. Last January, there were about 300,000 new cases a day. At this time, schools were closed. With our lack of knowledge on the new variant and our record-high numbers, only time will tell if schools stay in session or not.
