Homework is like “overtime” like when an adult works more than their work time slot. This comparison shows a great representation of what it looks like when children have homework to an outsider. “I’m on an endless treadmill with no time for living.” Zak, A student in his last year of high school, says this is what his life feels like from the beginning of 5th grade. There aren’t any academic benefits of giving students homework. OECD, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, has done research on students who do more than the modest amount of homework each. “After around four hours of homework per week, the additional time invested in homework has a negligible impact on performance.”The only thing homework does is deprive children of the chance of cumulative health. Brain Scientists have stated that rest and exercise are essential to good health and real learning. Students spend more than 4 hours on homework, they are lacking the essential to having good health. So should homework be abolished?
