While Delaware is known for being the actual first state, it is now becoming the only state that has no commercial airline. On February 11th, 2021 Frontier airlines began flights to Orlando from the New Castle Airport. When this service began the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) Executive Director Thomas J. Cook said, “With the restart of Fronteir’s flights today, the State of Delaware is no longer the only state in the union without regularly scheduled commercial service.” This quote was found to be short lived, with Frontier planning to end flights to and from Orlando after June 6th, 2022 due to low demand.
