Inflation Rates Are Reaching News Records

This year has been one of the worst for many reasons but has been most severe for inflation. Recent inflation rates have come close to breaking records as our current rate is at 8.5% and it’s only 0.1% away from the highest inflation rate ever recorded which was back in 1981. The high money prices have been straining family homes severely. According to the Delaware News Journal, this situation is even more severe for Black and Hispanic families. More than half of these houses cannot afford basic needs. An alarming rate of 35% of working families struggles with the reality of their full-time work not paying enough to keep their families afloat. The difficult part of this situation is that the only big way to help is for big political roles to take action. These actions are seen to be giving families raises, and expanding paid family, and medical leave. For us to help, we can do simple actions of kindness such as donating. Whether it’s clothes or food you donate, both of these items could be consequential for the family that takes them in.
