    The Willow Project

    The Willow Project

The Willow Project is a $6 billion oil development proposal by ConocoPhillips to drill gas and oil in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve. It has been approved by the Biden administration and there has been a lot of controversy around this project because of the impact it would have on the environment. For one, this would be releasing millions of CO2 into the atmosphere, which is very bad for the climate crisis. Secondly, this project could be altering migration patterns and destroying habitats for native species. Millions of people are trying to stop this project from happening by sending letters to the Biden Administration and even signing a petition on Change.org which already has over 2 million signatures. Supporters of the project say it will be creating jobs and boost domestic energy production. What do you think of the Willow Project?
