Right now President Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg look towards bringing people better compensation for any flights that get canceled or delayed. This is the latest attempt to improve flight conditions for the busy summer season. On Monday there will be a rule proposed by the Transportation Department which states airlines should be required to offer things like meals, meal vouchers, overnight accommodations, ground transportation to and from hotels, rebooking, and timely customer service. An airline customer service dashboard has also been announced, this will show which airlines give cash compensation and other amenities to passengers. According to The White House, the website will show that “virtually no airlines offer compensation on top of refund or amenities.
