On August 8th 2023, The Maui Wildfires struck the town of Lahaina leaving most of the town in ash. More than 100 people were killed by Smoke, drowing, or burning. The main cause of the wildfires are unknown but it is believed that climate change may have had a big impact. Another factor that could have caused the Wildfires was high winds downing the wildfires. As of now Maui is still recovering from the billions of dollars worth of damages.
