The SAG-AFTRA strike is a protest that has been going on for a while now in New York. People are protesting to stop the use of AI writing and to acknowledge actual writers and directors. The WGA (Writers Guild of America) leadership voted to end the strike. There are 11,500 members who have until October 9th to cast their votes for the contract. In the course of 3 years, minimum pay rates for writers will climb by more than 12%. David Slack, a writer, said “Our strike was necessary. Our strike was effective. Our strike is a victory.”
