New York is currently experiencing a flash flood that is disturbing subway service, inundating ground-level apartment buildings, and turning many streets into small lakes. About 20 cm of rain fell in some parts of the city, making it very difficult to get around. According to climate scientists, global warming has produced more extreme weather patterns in much of the world. Thankfully, there have been no reports that people were seriously injured.
