College readiness exam scores are declining. This is the sixth consecutive year of declining average scores in all academic subjects. The ACT is calling this proportion “Covid cohort seniors” who did not meet the benchmark scores that were necessary for college. And more seniors are leaving high school without meeting any college benchmark requirements, despite rising GPAs and the number of people saying they’re prepared for college. Experts say to fix this the policy and support for seniors need to be fixed to make any changes.
