Scientists have infected volunteers with Zika in the hope of finding a vaccine or treatment for the Zika virus. The Zika virus causes fevers, rashes, headaches, joint pains, red eyes, and muscle pains. Researchers located in the U.S. have shown that for the first time, they are able to safely and effectively infect humans with the Zika virus. The reason for doing this is because it helps scientists learn more about the disease and help find ways to develop treatments and vaccines.
