On November 7th 2023, Police Identified a woman that was killed in a car crash after crashing into a ditch in Smyrna. Police have identified the woman as Christina Thompson of Clayton. Troopers responded to Wheatleys Pond Road by Sunnyside Road near Smyrna a little after 9:15 p.m. after reports of a wreck, where they found Thomphson.
Police Determined that Thomoson was speeding in her car when she lost control of it, causing it to roll over in a ditch. Thompson wasn’t wearing a seatbelt causing her to get launched out of her car. She was rushed to the hospital where police said she died.
Police are still investigating the crash and are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact investigators.
