The National Park Services want to replant the sequoia groves in Sequoia and King Canyon National Parks, after wildfires in the 2020-2021 range caused lasting damage on the environment. They want to do this because they think that the natural healing process wouldn’t be efficient enough to sustain self-sustaining groves in the future. California environmentalists aren’t happy about that and filed a lawsuit against the NPS, saying they have to abide by the law of not affecting the land via humans by any means and let nature take its course. Other organizations with similar beliefs to the environmentalists have joined them in the suing of the NPS. The big argument that the environmentalists have is that the groves are used to those wildfires, even depending on them to keep everything healthy. The NPS and National Forest Service are continuing their project anyway.
