Over the last 14 years, Delaware has seen reduced participation in high school sports. In the National Federation of High Schools’ High School Athletics Participation Survey for 2022-2023, there was a decline of 6% in teenagers participating in their school sports. For example, A.I Dupont has seen a decline in student participation. Their girl’s basketball team won the championship in 2015 against Saint Marks, but over the years their roster size has decreased and they weren’t able to put a team together for the 2018-19 season.

Roslyn Barber, HS Reporter
Hi, my name is Roslyn Barber and I am in the 12th grade at Conrad. My pathway is Biomed. I have decided to join journalism because I enjoy writing about what’s happening now in the world and giving people the information they need. I think it is crucial that the students at Conrad are well informed about school-related activities and events occurring worldwide. I am very excited to be coming back to journalism this year.
