The bodies of five skiers had just been found along with one person still missing, the police state. Local authorities are said to be still looking for the sixth person. On Saturday, a huge search and rescue was launched after the group went missing near the 3,706m high Tete Blanche mountain. The five skiers were found “without any signs of life,” stated Swiss Valais canton police. Authorities also stated that the skiers were all in the age range from 21 to 58 years old.
Before they were found, local police stated that the severe weather conditions were unsafe to be out in. But the team proceeded anyway, and resulted in their losses. This tragic event was due to the area’s extreme winds and snowfall. The rescue team was thankfully, able to find the five, but the sixth person is still missing with no trace of where they could be, if they’re still alive. Thank you for reading.
