Youth in Government had a great weekend at the state conference in Dover! If you see the following students, please congratulate them on their hard work and various successes.
Chris Przywara: first year participation; presented a bill on implementing a standard curfew to protect minors
Christian Harris: first year participation
Naledi Renee Gordy: lobbyist for JP Morgan Chase and Wilmington University
Caitlyn Dill: lobbyist for Delaware State Troopers Association
Emilie Monnig: passed her bill through the committee on implementing a background check for adopting animals
Jordan Woodside: Co-chairman in the Senate; passed his bill through the committee on reforming the Coastal Zone Act of 1971
Clancy Gates: awarded Outstanding Delegate in the Rodney House; Bill was Passed and signed by the Youth Governor to stop no-knock police raids; was selected to attend the Conference on National Affairs (CONA); he was also awarded “Funniest Delegate” by his peers
Nicole Kennedy also participated with the Western YMCA delegation as Chief of Staff. She was nominated for Youth Governor but did not win. Former Conrad student, Felicia Flores (current Charter School of Wilmington student) was elected. Both were also selected to attend CONA with Clancy.
