On Saturday morning, firefighters rushed to a burning home in Mill Creek on Verona Drive at 3:40 am where they pulled a 91 year old man and his dog out to safety. The man was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. The dog was safe and was given oxygen upon rescuing and was taken to a local vet for treatment. The victims were located on the second floor of the burning building. Firefighters were working tirelessly to put the fire out on the first floor so they could reach the victims. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
