School Shooting

17 killed and 15 hospitalized after the deadliest school shooting since Sandy Hook in 2012. The shooting occurred Wednesday, February 14th at Stoneman Douglas High School and marks one of the top 10 mass shootings in U.S History. 12 people were found killed within the school, two outside, one on the street, and two died in the hospital. Police officers rushed classrooms and evacuated students from the scene to safety. The school is set to close for the rest of the week and flags to be flown at half mast to honor the victims and their families. The suspect 19-year-old, Nikolas Cruz, who was expelled from the school is scheduled to be seen in court Thursday and tried for 17 counts of premeditated murder.
