A group of 17 people were recently kidnapped in the country Haiti. The group consisted of 16 Americans and 1 Canadian from the ages as young as 8 months to 48 years old. They were visiting an orphanage in Croix-des-Bouquets when the gang 400 Mawozo kidnapped them. The gang has announced a ransom fee of $17 million, one million dollars per person. Due to a lack of resources, Haiti has been the target for gangs, leaving the Haitian Police to contact the FBI to help negotiate and figure out this dire situation. They currently have no contact with the kidnappers. Both the police and FBI want a safe return of the citizens but have run into a problem. If they pay the ransom fee they would be supplying a gang with millions of dollars leaving Haiti desperate. The authorities are currently trying to figure out a successful solution on how to bring the group of 17 home.
