A 4-person crew Jessica Watson, mission specialist; Bob Hines, pilot; Kjell Lindgren, commander, and Samantha Cristoforetti, mission specialist was launched into orbit Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 at 3:52 am, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. They are heading towards the International Space Station onboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, named “Freedom” and propelled by the SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets. “Freedom” is expected to dock onto the space station by 8:15 pm today where they will be greeted by the Expedition 67 crew. While onboard the 4-person crew will be conducting new scientific research such as materials science, health technologies, and plant science. Along with experimenting with cardiorespiratory effects during and after long-duration exposure to microgravity.
