Paqui One Chip Challenge Takes Life of Teen

Paqui One Chip Challenge Takes Life of Teen

Harris Wolobah, a 14 year old student at Doherty Memorial High School in Massachusetts, passed away on September 1st, 2023 just hours after partaking in the “Paqui One Chip Challenge.” The One Chip Challenge has been a viral sensation, where participants consume the supposed “spiciest chip in the world.” After being dared by his friend, Wolobah attempted the challenge, and reportedly complained about stomach pains and fainted. Wolobah left school early, and according to his mother, Harris began to feel better after getting home. However, on his way to basketball practice, he passed out for the second time and was rushed to emergency care. Stunningly, he was pronounced dead shortly after. The Wolobah family immediately blamed the chip for Harris’ passing, and this caused public outrage against the Paqui chip. As a result, all products under the “Paqui One Chip Challenge” name were pulled from shelves indefinitely.
