Mad Cow Disease Surges

Mad Cow Disease Surges

In May 2023, a cow in the United States was identified as having contracted mad cow disease. This implies that consuming its meat could lead to a distinct brain illness that gradually diminishes brain function, ultimately resulting in death. This has caused fear in the population from the disease possibly growing rampant among cattle. It is vital to note that cooking the meat does not eliminate the virus responsible for this condition. Once infected, individuals have only eight months to live before the virus completely overtakes their system. The symptoms associated with this disease are even more chilling, including memory impairment, coordination loss, and depression. Seemingly the only way to eliminate the virus is to remove the parts of the brain affected by it. However, it goes without saying that this method comes with significant challenges.
