Scientists Find How Billions of Alaskan Snow Crabs Disapeared

Scientists+Find+How+Billions+of+Alaskan+Snow+Crabs+Disapeared

In the past two years, the number of snow crabs in the Alaska area has decreased significantly. Two years ago was the beginning of a decrease in the crab population, and the main suspect at the time was overfishing. However, due to the trend still happening the following year, experts began to suspect and eventually found out that the warmer oceans were what had caused billions of those crabs to die because the warmth was messing with their bodies. It does throw a wrench in the scientists’ plan against overfishing, so they’re currently working on both issues as of now.
