On October 27th 2023, Blumhouse Productions released their new horror film, based on the internet famous video game, Five Nights at Freddy’s. Fans of the video game created a lot of excitement and hype for the movie with a lot of online videos.
The film broke many records after making $52 millions dollars internationally and $130 Million Dollars globally. One of which being that it had the highest grossing opening weekend for Blumhouse, passing “Halloween” which made $76 million dollars. It was also the second largest international debut of all time for a video game film adaptation, falling short of “The Super Mario Bros Movie” which made $146.3 million dollars.
With a budget of $25 million dollars, the movie has already made its money back in one weekend making it a huge success for Blumhouse, with sequels already being planned.
