People who have type 2 diabetes are currently having difficulties getting reimbursed for drugs like Ozempic. The U.S. insurers implement restrictions designed to deter doctors from prescribing that sort of medication for weight loss. Out of 24 patients who have diabetes, 13 of them have reported recent problems getting their health plans to cover Ozempic or Manjaro, a drug that is similar that is sold by Eli Lilly.
