On Monday, January 22nd, many people expected Ross to start selling thousands of items for just 49¢. The word got out that some items were going to be 49¢ and the truth got stretched. Customers assumed almost all items would be on sale for that low price, but this was not true. The truth was that a lot of items were going to be marked down to a lower price that could potentially be as low as 49¢. All items that were being marked down had a bright pink reduced tag on them. These items include anything from shoes to electronics. Many customers were outraged that more items were not marked down to 49¢, but it was never actually confirmed by Ross that all items would be that low.
