As you have noticed, we have several new middle school teacher positions in our Redwolf pack! We are excited to tell you about them. We will be introducing them to you so you can know more about these interesting teachers and what they do at Conrad as a part of the Redwolves.
First, we have Mrs. Scott-Cosden. She loves teaching drama club because she likes how everybody is unique in their own way, and she gets to see her students outside of school and classes. Mrs Scott has been a teacher for about 18 years. She became an English teacher because, at a young age, she started not loving reading. She would get a couple of facts about a book and wing it from there. As she got older, she developed an interest in reading. She began working with young people and developed a passion for it. It didn’t really matter what the subject was; she loved working with students.
If you have not already met Mrs Torkelson, she teaches 7th-grade Social Studies at Conrad taking over for Mr Spence! So far, Mrs. Torkelson has enjoyed the Redwolves. She is slowly getting used to Conrad and the way things happen. Mrs. Torkelson has become a Social Studies teacher because, as a young child, she has always loved history, including even reading about it. She used to take trips every year with her grandfather and dad to different historic sights and historic grounds. Mrs. Torkelson has been teaching for 8+ years before she came to Conrad! It was a passion for Mrs. Torkelson, and she ended up getting a master’s degree in history to be able to teach it to our 7th graders today.
Mrs. O’Malley does miss her 7/8th grade students, but she is enjoying her new position teaching the 6th-grade students. She enjoys teaching science, no matter the position she is in. She has a crochet advisory, where she teaches her students how to crochet.
