New Massive Snake Species Discovered in Amazon Rainforest

New+Massive+Snake+Species+Discovered+in+Amazon+Rainforest

A team of scientists from the University of Queensland have found what is rumored to be the largest snake species in the world, right in the middle of the Ecuadorian Amazon. The Waorani people joined the scientists on a 10 day expedition to find the snake. They were searching for massive anacondas. And they found the northern green anaconda, which diverged from the southern green anaconda millions of years ago. There was a genetic difference of 5.5% between the two species, which is pretty significant for this kind of thing.
