Forever 21 has recently released a list of stores that are closing due to the California company filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Among that list of stores was the Forever 21 in the Christiana Mall. The company said, “not all locations on the list may end up closing as they look to renegotiate leases and rents with landlords.” Forever 21 will close up to 178 stores in the United States and 350 overall. Due to the rise in online shopping and companies not being able to keep up is a major factor in why so many stores are closing. In a statement regarding all the stores that are closing, Forever 21 Executive Vice President Linda Chang said: “This was an important and necessary step to secure the future of our company, which will enable us to reorganize our business and reposition Forever 21.”
