LQBTQ advocates filed a federal lawsuit against the Tennessee anti-trans sports ban. This law requires middle and high schools to play sports based on the sex listed on their original birth certificates in Tennessee. Attorneys of the group are asking a federal judge in the state to declare the law unconstitutional and in violation of Title IX. Title IX says that it is prohibited to discriminate against people based on sexual orientation and gender identity. There are similar laws like this in Tennessee.
