On October 5th, CEO of Blumhouse Productions Jason Blum announced that filming for the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie will start in February of 2023. The movie is a film adaptation of an indie-horror video game franchise of the same name. Plans for the film were announced by Warner Bros Productions in 2015. But, for years, the movie has been delayed due to issues with the script and studio changes. Emma Tammi was announced to be the director, and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop will be in charge of creating the animatronics that is at the forefront of the story. The creator of the games, Scott Cawthon, is working with Seth Cuddeback on the script. Cawthon will also produce the film with Jason Blum in association with Striker Entertainment.
