The United States has been telling citizens to leave Russia due to the war in Ukraine and the current risk of getting arrested. There have been wrongful detentions, so United States citizens are advised not to enter Russia. According to the U.S. embassy in Moscow, U.S. citizens have been arrested on fake charges and singled out for detention and harassment. They’ve been denied fair treatment and have been convicted in secret trials with no credible evidence being shown. Russian authorities have also been randomly enforcing local laws on American religious workers or citizens engaged in religious activity.
