    Cross Country Brings Home the Bling

    The Conrad RedWolves brought home the bling from the Lake Forest XC Festival on Sat, Sept 11 at Killens Pond State Park. After a moving opening to commemorate the lives lost on 9/11/01, the meet kicked off with the Girls Varsity race at 10am. Mallory Holloway was the top female finisher at the meet, clocking a 19:41 on the 5k course.

    The girls varsity team went on to win the Girls Varsity B division 1st place trophy with all 5 scoring members earning medals: Mallory (1st), Alyssa Napier (2nd), Jordan Blanck (5th), Isabell Anderson (10th), Penny Henderson (13th). Rounding out the girls varsity team were Addison Egan (27th) and Keely Fitzgerald (34th).
    In the Boys Varsity B division, Conrad earned the 3rd place trophy with the top 3 boys finishers earning medals: Ben Williamson (8th), Braeden Peterson (13th), and Ben Horgan (14th). Rounding out the boys varsity team: Andrew Hockenbrock (17th), Nick Hockenbrock (18th), Ryan Williamson (43rd), and Braydon Harrison (63rd).
    Freshman Karen Tanner led the Girls JV race from the start and helped the RedWolves bring home a 2nd place trophy in the Girls JV B division. 4 girls JV runners brought home medals in their race – Karen Tanner (1st), Rana Jackson (12th), Rhiannon Mosier (13th), and Robyn Bolen (14th). Rounding out the field for girls JV: Rory Gillin (16th), Mickey Gates (19th), and Chelsi Blevins (27th).
    Wrapping up the day in the Boys JV race were freshmen Jason Webb (8th – medal) and Colin Cushing (22nd).

    Congrats to the RedWolves XC team on an outstanding start to their season. They look ahead to a conference dual meet versus Newark Charter on Tuesday at White Clay Creek State Park. Go CC!
